I love Alicia Keys. I think I love her as a person as well as enjoying her music. Its been interesting watching her change and mature as an artist, and listening to As I Am it is clear she has changed. I wonder is she takes her own relationship advice...
As I Am is very experimental, Prince influenced, and I feel the structure is slightly confusing. I'm hoping it will grow on me.
Superwoman started off good, but there's something about it that I can't get into, maybe its the 'I'm gonna make you love me' Yes I Am's.
No One was a grower, but I still don't like it that much. Like You'll Never See Me Again is beautiful, you already know that tune makes me wet..
Teenage Love Affair has a You Don't Know My Name vibe to it, but also a fun and youthful one.
Prelude to a Kiss - The name alone is big. Is it bad that one of my favourite tracks is one of the shortest?
Sure Looks Good To Me reminds me of Michael Jackson - Human Nature..dunno why. The 2nd half of the album is better I think.
Overall this album makes me screw up my face a little, not in an angry way, but a sort of like 'oh is that it...?'
