OLED stands for Organic Light-Emitting Diodes, and stands to become a household name within the next year or so. The format promises better picture quality, thinner screens and lower power consumption.
These OLED TV's apparently have a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, which is nuts. So if you think you're ready for the HD (lol) now then you're in for a shock.
This will give the procrastinators a reason not to buy an LCD yet, and those of use who have a reason to be slightly pissed.
Don't get too excited though, Sony's 11 inch model pictured above is only £1,300. So no doubt a normal sized screen will rape you (financially of course).
